The Only Survivors by Megan Miranda

It's been 10 years since a tragic accident took place during a school trip. There was initially 9 survivors and now only 7 are left. Every year the survivors get together at the Shallow on the anniversary of the accident.

This year things are different at the Shallow. All the survivors are a bit off and acting particular. A major storm rolls in. One of the survivors is missing.

The story is told in past and present tense. Secrets that people hold are revealed as are the tragic events of the accident. Miranda's writing puts you at the scene of the accident. You can feel the intensity and fear that the characters are undergoing.

Twist and turns keep you turning the page late into the night.
