Mockingbird by Chuck Wendig

Mockingbird, hits bookshelves Tuesday, August 28, 2012.

Mockingbird is the second book in a series. I had no idea, until just a few minutes ago, which means that this book definitely stands on its own.

The main character, Miriam is like no character, I have ever read about or any person I have ever met. She is truly unique. She is a train wreck in every imaginable way possible. She is foulmouthed, angry driven and surprisingly caring. She feels compelled to save the lives of those who will die a horrific death even it it means taking a life to save one.

With one simple touch, Miriam can see the future --- she can see how and when that person will die. These psychic abilities lead her down many dangerous paths. Luckily, Miriam has, Louis who is there to ground her and giver her a degree of normalcy however when things get tough and they do --- Louis is there to lend a helping hand.

This book is fabulous and engaging. It is nearly impossible to put down --- it flows from one scene to another --- keeping you on your toes. Expect the unexpected.

FYI: The first book in the series is called, Blackbirds.

Grade: A
