I Am Number Four (Lorien Legacies) by Pittacus Lore
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I don't normally care for Sci-Fi but I simply couldn't stop reading this one.
I was captivated from page one. This is one fast-paced, adventurous journey. It is very imaginative which makes for an exciting read. It is rumored to be a six part series and I for one can't hardly wait for the second book to come out in 2011.
Other than a bit of stereotypes as far as characters are concerned you are pulled into them and "who" they are.
I am Number Four is a narrative driven story that will keep you entertained. The twist and turns are enough to keep you up until you finish this particular book.
On a side note, The Movie is set to come out on 2-18-2011. [Pittacus Lore is also a pen name. I am anxious to find out who this is!]
Grade: A
Synopsis [B&N]
Nine of us came here. We look like you. We talk like you. We live among you. But we are not you. We can do things you dream of doing. We have powers you dream of having. We are stronger and faster than anything you have ever seen. We are the superheroes you worship in movies and comic books but we are real.
Our plan was to grow, and train, and become strong, and become one, and fight them. But they found us and started hunting us first. Now all of us are running. Spending our lives in shadows, in places where no one would look, blending in. we have lived among you without you knowing.
But they know.
They caught Number One in Malaysia.
Number Two in England.
And Number Three in Kenya.
They killed them all.
I am Number Four.
I am next.
