From Dead to Worse is an excellent novel in the southern vampire series. It lacks romance (which is a nice change of pace) and is filled with action, entertainment and danger.
The read can drag at times but then when it picks up, you find yourself completely absorbed.
You must read this series in order!

Synopsis
